Cambria started off as a specialist oral surgery practice founded by Rhian Jones in 2005 at Forge Road, Port Talbot. It's growing popularity and a desire to broaden the treatments available to include general dentistry meant that larger premises were soon needed. In June 2008, a partnership between Rhian and Jeff saw the opening of Cambria, Swansea - a new practice offering a full range of family dental care whilst maintaining a busy specialist oral surgery practice
Jeff Hinton BDS(Wales) - Dentist
After qualifying from UWCM in 1997, Jeff spent several years working in NHS practices in Killay and Aberdare. During this time he also worked as a clinical assistant in the Restorative Department of Prince Charles Hospital, Merthyr. This position has given him the opportunity to increase his clinical skills in the treatment of more complex restorative cases across the full range of dental disciplines. In recent years, Jeff has divided his time between Swansea and a busy private practice in Surrey. He has now returned to live in Swansea and will be working full time at Cambria.
Rhian Jones BDS MFDS RCS MsurgDent(Eng) - Oral Surgeon
Rhian initially qualified from the University of Wales in 1997 and since then has worked in a number of Oral Surgery and Maxillofacial Departments in South Wales and the Midlands. Rhian completed her three year Specialist Registrar post in Oral Surgery at the Birmingham Dental Hospital in 2004 and was recognised as a Specialist in Oral Surgery by the General Dental Council following completion of the Specialist Examination. Following this she opened the Cambria Dental Practice in 2005 and currently divides her time between providing Oral Surgery services at Cambria and working as a Staff Grade in Oral Surgery at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend. With over 10 years experience she aims to provide Oral Surgery treatment in a calm and relaxed setting. Rhian also has a special interest in the use of sedation to aid treatment of anxious patients.
Shakir F Mustafa BDS(Baghdad), FDSRCS(Eng), MBBCh(UWCM), MRCS(Eng) - Oral Surgeon
Shakir qualified in Dentistry from the University of Baghdad in 1995 and moved back to the UK to pursue his training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He completed the Fellowship in Dental Surgery of the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 1998. He then joined the Medical School at the University of Wales, Cardiff and qualified as a medical practitioner in 2003 in order to complete his training programme to become a consultant Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. He has been practicing Oral surgery for the past 12 years and continues to do so, on a part time basis, at Cambria Dental Practice since he started with us in 2007.
Joseph Catania BDS MFDS RCS(Eng) - Oral Surgeon
Joseph qualified from the University of Wales in 1998 and has worked in South West Wales ever since. His area of interest is Oral Surgery having worked in numerous Oral and Maxillofacial Units in the area to date. He has gathered over 10 years experience in this field and provides a full range of Oral Surgery procedures. He has gained numerous postgraduate qualifications since qualifying . He works at Cambria part time.
Ceri Walker - Senior Nurse
Ceri qualified as a dental nurse in 2000. She has worked at Cambria Dental Practice since February 2005 and is now also a qualified sedation nurse after successfully completing the NEBDN examination in 2006.
Elizabeth Walker - Receptionist
Liz has been the receptionist at Cambria since February 2007. Her friendly and efficient style helps put patients at ease from the moment they first join us. She is your first point of contact and is happy to deal with any enquiries you might have.
